Location
A beautifully serene setting in open countryside
This valley in central Cornwall has rural mining heritage with many points of interest, nature walks and small villages.

Deer, red kites, families of geese, wood pigeons, foxes, owls, badgers, rabbits and all manner of wildlife surrounds you here, complementing the nearby populations of horses, cows and sheep. Also the bees and butterflies are far from leaving us!
The Gardens are centrally placed for the wonderful The Great Flat Lode Trail - a circular tour including Carn Brea, where the Basset family built a hunting lodge balanced on a tor in the style of a castle.
Also there's the lovely Treslothan Trail - a bridleway, cycling and walking trail which starts and ends down the road at the King Edward mining museum.

And of course on a smaller scale there's our own circuit of river walk, wild marsh and woodland.
The valley runs North to South, so when we are lucky with the sun the memorials are beautfiully lit all day long.
